Cutting Speed Charts

When programming speeds and feeds we need to know the cutting speed to be able to do the calculation. We get this information from the back of the pack the tips come in from the tool supplier. If you are practising speeds and feeds you might not have access to the precise cutting speeds or you might not yet know the grade of tip that you are planning to use to make your part.

To help with this, I have provided a basic range of cutting speeds to help you with your practice programs below.

Please note, that the exact cutting speeds that you use in your programs should be taken from the packaging supplied with your tooling, below is an average calculation of what the speeds may be for use when practising programming speeds and feeds. for more information on how to calculate speeds and feeds for CNC programming, please refer to my course: Programming Speeds and Feeds
